The Company was founded by Walter
Watson in 1967, operating as a Sole Trader manufacturing a small range
of agricultural equipment, out of premises at Dunmore, Ballynahinch.
The Company outgrew the premises in Dunmore and in 1974 moved to an 8½ acre site located on the Ballylough Road, just outside Castlewellan and 6 months later became incorporated. After some 30 years of diversification and expansion Walter Watson Ltd now operates in four market sectors:

The company's headquarters at Ballylough Rd has since expanded to 16 acres, which now includes 12,279 square metres of covered manufacturing and storage facilities, and a state-of-the-art purpose built 465 square metre administation block. The Company operates a Quality System which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9002 and are members of the B.C.S.A. The Company remains a wholly family-owned business under the Chairmanship of the founder Walter Watson who, through Investment in premises, equipment and most importantly, people, over the last 30 years has seen the company go from strength to strength. Walter Watson Ltd looks forward to the future, confident that it possesses the expertise and most modern technology available today to provide an efficient and quality service.
